Mother’s Day presents

WB drawingI thought the concept of giving Mom an afternoon of nude figure drawing for her day might be odd. At least for my mother—I am sure that there are Mom’s who it wouldn’t be. Like me.

So, in the pouring rain, I carted paper, charcoals, and pastels to Dover and spent 3 hours on a drawing horse. We did 1 minute to 30 minute drawings. A flashback, to be sure. By the time we started the longest drawing, I was ready to be done, but the results (shown here) are respectable.

Happy Mother’s Day!

About artinsmallplaces

I am Daryl-Ann Hurst, (also using Daryl-Ann Dartt Hurst), an artist and writer, who is also interested in antiques, travel and the outdoors. I am hoping to use this blog to meld all of the interests. I was born and raised in California, have a BA in art, have been published in the New England Antiques Journal and have photography on the Gulf of Maine's website. I have shown paintings and prints nationally since 1978.
